The Mongolian Art Gallery has been implementing the “Art Restoration” project since 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia.
The project aims to recreate irreparable, fire-damaged works using the skills of the original artists. Within the framework of this project, the painting “HYASAA” (1994) by J.Munkhtsetseg, an award-winning artist of the Mongolian Art Museum, was restored in 2021-2022 and will be able to reach you again. Although the original version of the work and its time will not make up for it, thanks to this project, we have a sincere desire to revive and present to the public those works that testify to the history of Mongolian fine arts.
Artist J.Munkhtsetseg's work “Oyster” is a valuable work that testifies to the history of Mongolian fine arts during the transition period between the two societies. Depending on the environment and its adaptability, it has the amazing ability to shape the cover and turn the sand and stones inside into pearls.
The harsher the habitat, the stronger the shell to protect the oyster's soft tissues. Isn't that the case with humans? I stumble, stand up, fight hard, and regain consciousness in every problem and difficulty in life. In fact, it doesn't have to be mind-boggling. Just experience. Prepare yourself for the next challenge and challenge. Create yourself by nature. It's like a shell becomes stronger.
J.Munkhtsetseg, an award-winning artist of the Mongolian Art Museum, who supported the project and revived her work “Oyster”, would like to express her sincere gratitude to you from the Mongolian Art Gallery.
By the way, the first restored work of art within the project is “Mongol Trans” by People's Artist G.Dunburee.
May Mongolian fine arts flourish.
